Babies Sensory Tuft Spot Activities

Here at Daisykins Whitehall the children in the Baby room have been exploring lots of exciting sensory tuft spots. Practitioners have set them up using all kinds of different materials and added things for the children to explore.Practitioners used green paper, coco pops, porridge oats, pretend greenery and different farm animals to make a farmyard tuft spot. The children explored the different textures, practitioners named the different animals, encouraging the babies to try and repeat them and sang Old McDonald had a farm. Another tuft spot was set up using sand, snakes and different insects. The Babies then had great fun attempting to find the different insects and showing them to their friends! The children enjoyed exploring the different textures, hiding the animals and attempting to make the sounds the animals make, copying practitioners. Other tuft spots that were set up included  porridge oats and rubber ducks, sea creatures and gloop, and shaving foam, different coloured paints and bath toys.Here at Daisykins Whitehall we understand that babies use their senses as their main way of exploring their environment. Through practitioners setting up these interesting tuft spots the Babies have been able to explore something different. Practitioners at Daisykins are always striving to provide activities that will look appealing to the children and encourage them to explore something new, while also encouraging them to learn about the world around them.We look forward to seeing what other creations the practitioners can come up with and will be holding a tuft spot competition over the next month to see which room can come up the most appealing ideas, so watch this space!
