Christmas Craft Morning With Baby Room

Throughout December at Daisykins nursery in Rugby we held Christmas craft mornings for each room and invited parents to come in to spend some time with their children. A range of activities were set up in the reception area and children were brought down in small groups to take part. The babies enjoyed playing in the glitter paint, using Christmas stamps to make marks on the paper. They got very involved, with one particular baby and their key worker getting very messy, covered in paint! Some of the children helped to make their own bags of Reindeer food. They poured the oats and glitter into a bowl and used a spoon to mix it together. The babies were then encouraged to use their hands to scoop out the mixture and put it into a bag ready to be tied up with a label for Christmas Eve. A coloured rice tray was also set up with glitter and bells added in for them to explore. The babies had great fun using the metal spoons to scoop up the red and green rice and pour it into other containers. Some of the babies’ mummies came to join in the fun and they interacted with each other and the practitioners taking part in each of the activities that was set up.Here at Daisykins nursery we like to provide opportunities for the parents to spend time with their children within the setting and see how their children are developing and the different ways they learn.To read about Toddlers craft morning please keep an eye out for the next article
