Decorating the Christmas Tree

Our Christmas Tree

To help the children get into the festive spirit practitioners Claire, Kerry and Lisa helped the children to decorate the small tabletop Christmas tree.

Children from Toddlers, Pre School Minors and Pre School joined the practitioners in the reception area to decorate the Christmas tree. The children independently chose a decoration from the selection provided and took it in turns to put in on the tree. As the children wrapped the tinsel around the tree they got a little tangled with one another and found this funny. One little boy found a white star and placed this at the top of the tree, he turned to practitioner Claire and said Look it’s a star, Claire replied "You put your star at the top", he smiled and replied, "Yes my star".

As the older children decorated the Christmas tree they spoke to practitioners about what decorations they had on their tree at home "My tree is gold" My tree has lots of lights that flash". Practitioners complemented the children on the fantastic work they had done and how fabulous the tree looked.

When you are next in nursery take a look at the children's hard work.
