Looking After Your Baby’s Skin

We all know that the baby’s skin is often sensitive. But why?  The baby’s first year of his or her life is usually spent in developing physical features and developing brain structure. The dermis which is the skin’s top layer is often still not fully developed when the baby is very young. Hence, it is always susceptible to damage. Also, when the baby is still very young, his or her skin layer is often very thin. This is the reason why a person should always avoid applying harsh chemicals on the baby’s skin when he or she is still very young.A substance that is referred as melanin is normally responsible for the skin color. Also, this substance is ideal in offering protection to our skin. Due to the fact that in babies the production of melanin is often still very low, their skin in most cases is not yet properly protected. Hence, it easily chafes and burns each time it happens to be exposed to any place where there is too much sunshineCleaning the skin of  your baby:-Since the skin of the baby is usually so sensitive, it is ideal that you ensure that you take extra care of it. Avoid bathing  your child daily as this will remove the protective layer of oil on the skin of your baby. Instead of bathing you top and tail, this includes washing their face and hands using a flannel or sponge.Looking after babies skin     You should as well avoid the use of any product which has got harsh chemicals while bathing your baby. Simply because the product you want to use in bathing your baby is written, mild, natural or organic; it does not necessary mean it does not contain harsh chemicals.Any baby bathing product that has got a strong odour, or creates lotsof bubbles or have a string list of the ingredients, is most likely to be too strong for the baby. Hence, if possible such products should be avoided in your attempt to wash your baby. The best way of cleaning your baby’s skin is by using water and a baby product that is clinically proven gentle on baby's skin.There are numerous factors that are likely to cause the occurrence of rashes on your baby’s skin. For instance, nappy rash can easily be resulted by friction, yeast infection or even too much exposure to any dampness. On the other hand, prickly heat rash is often resulted by the blockage of the baby’s pores. Generally, when it is too humid and hot, the sweat glands normally produce a lot of sweat which is essential in cooling the body down. However, in babies, the sweat usually gets trapped under the skin thus forming little bumps and even small blisters sometimes.To easily prevent the occurrence of rashes on the baby’s skin, it is ideal that you ensure you always change their nappies when they are wet. Also, use bibs in order to hassle free catch the baby’s dribbles and also in stopping them from going down their neck and chin.Last but not the least; when dressing your baby, ensure that use loosing clothing which has been made using cotton.
