Getting muddy in our mud kitchen area

Exploring the mud kitchen area with their friends

The children at Daisykins Nursery in Rugby have become little chefs in our mud kitchen this month. Children from all of our rooms, of different ages, have enjoyed digging in the mud and mixing it with water, making mud pies.
Our new all in one outfits arrived, and the children were very eager to try them on. A practitioner gathered children from each room to try on the different designs. We had a dragon, a bumble bee, a ladybird and a Daisykins pink mouse. The children enjoyed naming the different animals and one said "Rahhhh I'm a dragon!" while stomping around.
Once outside the children ran straight into the mud kitchen, ready to get muddy! The older children helped, the younger children to use the different tools and to pour the water from one container to another. A couple of the children spent time putting a bowl onto the weighing scales and scooping mud into it, watching it get heavier and heavier.
The practitioners at Daisykins Nursery, Rugby, like to ensure that the same experiences and opportunities are available to all children. Therefore different children have then had the opportunity to play within the mud kitchen in our new outfits.
Practitioners provided other activities for them to undertake as well, for example, a bug hunt, exploring our bug hotel and a tea party on our hand made wooden seats and table.
