How Daisykins Nursery Supports your child's needs?

How Daisykins Nursery supports children to reach their full potential

Daisykins Nursery in Rugby have a very skilled workforce who are experienced at supporting a wide range of individual needs. These could be anything from your everyday weaning needs, potty training needs and dietary needs to more complex additional learning needs or speech and language needs.

We have many practitioners within the Daisykins team who have additional training qualifications and job roles to ensure every child can access the support they need.

Take a look at this display in the reception area.

At our Rugby Nursery we have three onsite cooks who have worked at Daisykins for many years who all ensure children with any dietary needs have meals prepared that are safe for them. We have a strict red dot system in place so children with allergies are not put under any risks. The kitchen staff also work closely with the practitioners in baby room to prepare meals that meet the babies stage and prefered method of weaning. The baby room practitioners are on hand any day to discuss weaning advice and support should you need it.

We have a speech and language champion working at our Rugby Nursery. This is a practitioner who has been through many hours of training and courses to hold this title. She is able to follow warwickshire time to talk tools to identify any children who may need additional support with their speech and language. From this it can then either be dealt with within the nursery through our speech and language champion, Gail, recommending activities and helpful hints and tips to practitioners and parents. Or depending on the needs Gail is able to refer children to receive additional support through speech and language therapy.

Daisykins Nursery in Rugby are also very lucky to have a multilingual practitioner. This a brilliant asset to have on the team as Simona can work with children who speak english as an additional language so they settle in, can communicate their wants and needs and importantly communicate with parents to keep them informed about their child’s day. This ensure any parents and children who join the setting can still be heard, valued and understood.

Another practitioner we have at Daisykins who has attended additional training, courses and regular support meetings is our SENDCO. This is a practitioner who is able to refer and support any child who may have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. This ensure any children who may be going through the referral process or who have received their diagnosis can access any support they may need within and away from the setting. Natalie will work closely with parents to ensure everyone is doing the same things and so that the child is supported in the best way possible.
