How we help settle children into Daisykins Nursery

N

Our Key person approach at Daisykins Nursery

Just like every early years setting, we operate a key person system across all rooms in our Daisykins Nursery and Preschool. A key person system is where every baby and child is assigned a main point of contact and security.

Interacting with Key Child

The role of the key person is to build a strong relationship with both your child and you as the parent/carer. They should whenever possible be there to greet you and your child in the morning and to feedback to you in the evening. Your key person will get to know your child as well as possible and complete all documents to support your child’s learning.

Completing children's tracking document

This person will also build a relationship with you as the parent/carer, this helps babies and children settle into the setting well and also helps you as the parent/carer feel involved and up to date with every aspect of your child’s wellbeing. You will be assigned a key person based on the sessions your child attends and also on who your child seems to naturally bond with the best. Creating a good relationship with your child is so important so that they settle in well and have the confidence to freely explore, discover and learn whilst they are in the setting. If you ever have any concerns you should feel you have the confidence and trust in your key person that you can raise this and know it will be explored and a solution will be found.

Bonding with Key Child

All practitioners in the rooms are a key person to a number of children who they care for and complete tracking documents for and change nappies for. All of our practitioners at Daisykins Nursery have a friendly caring nature and will do their best for every single child to ensure all children can reach their full potential.
