Our Twilight Parent/carers Evening
What to expect at our parent/carers evening
Here at Daisykins Nursery, we hold parents evening twice a year, we have recently introduced them as a Twilight Evening. These are held in the evenings outside of the usual nursery hours. If you can't make the set date and time we try to accommodate as best as possible and arrange an alternative meeting for you.
You will be informed of any upcoming Twilight evenings in the newsletter, posters displayed around the setting and on the Daisykins Nursery social media platforms. For some of our parents evenings, usually in preschool, you are given the opportunity to book time slots. Other parents evenings are more relaxed and you can just casually drop in during the evening.
Parents evenings are an opportunity to:
- Talk to practitioners and get more detailed feedback on how your child is doing at nursery - If you are a busy parent you may not always get as much time as you might like during morning and evening drop-offs and pickups to discuss all the things your child gets up to at the nursery.
- Discuss any developments
- Discuss any concerns
- Get any support and advice you may need
- Discuss any new interests, likes and dislikes
- Discuss any next steps
- Discuss any big milestones such as potty training, weaning, school transitions etc
- View your child’s learning journals
- Have a look around your child’s room and see any displays or pieces of artwork
Parents evenings are an important part of building relationships with your child’s key person. They are a useful time to ensure parents and practitioners have the same knowledge and expectations of a child. They help to ensure their is a good level of continuity and that everyone is working towards to the same goals, next steps and outcomes for your child.
