Spark-tactular Craft Morning

Glitter fun during our Spark-tactular parent/carers craft morning

A fun packed glittery craft morning was set up by Kelly, our nursery manager, and Jess, our deputy manager. All activities involved a sparkle of glitter. One table was set up with black card, pipe cleaners and glittery paint, ready for the children to create firework pictures. Adjacent to this was a tuff tray filled with red sand and coloured glitter. Funnels and scissor-shaped scoops were also placed in the tuff tray to encourage children to use their gross motor skills to scoop up the glitter and sand and pour it into the funnels. To ensure all children could participate in this Spark-tactualr craft morning a tuff tray full of green and red glitter, numbered logs and paint brushes was placed on the floor.
The preschool children were very engaged in writing the letters of their name in the red glittery sand, one little boy said he had written a "T for Thomas" and an "O for Oliver his brother".As some children are reluctant to get their hands messy, holding the ends of the pipe cleaner and dipping it into the tray of paint was a success and children were proud of their achievement in creating a firework picture.
