Visit to the Butterfly Farm

Children in Pre School minors went off on an adventure to the Butterfly farm. The children sat patiently on the mini bus and as they got nearer to the farm the excitement started to appear. It was very warm when they walked into the butterfly farm, the lady who sold the children the tickets said the butterflies like the warm weather. There was so many different coloured butterflies flying around, some landed on the children and some were eating orange segments on a tree stump.During the afternoon the children got to see some quails with their baby chicks, the children were not allowed to go near them because they would get scared and abandon their babies. There was a dark room full of insects and lizards, the children were a little reluctant to go near the big spiders. The children found it amusing when the butterflies landed on them they had to stand very still and be careful of them.The children were given insects hunts cards to use whilst walking around to search for bugs, children found caterpillars, butterflies, snails, ladybirds and spiders. Practitioner Nicol gave the children a sticker to put on the children's list for every bug they found. The children were very interested in looking at the cocoons and they could see that butterflies were starting to push there way out of the cocoon.
