Round and Round the Garden

The song Round and Round the Garden is accompanied by actions,practitioners lightly strokes their finger in slow circles on the child's upturned palm, then slowly walking the finger up the child's arm and then to the shoulder saying one step two step, and while the child waits in anticipation practitioners tickle the child under the arm. This song is a great way for children to learn simple counting, imitate words and sound, use repeated sounds and phrases.

We truly believe that singing nursery rhymes here at Daisykins to all ages of children lays the foundations for early literacy skills and teaches children how language is constructed. Singing songs enables practitioners to be physically close, make eye contact, use touch or voice which provides the opportunity for early conversation between adults and babies.
