Wind the bobbin up
Wind the bobbin up is a well loved nursery rhyme that all ages of children enjoy, it contains easy actions to follow which helps develop children's co-ordination skills. Here at Daisykins nursery we provide children the opportunity to learn new words through singing nursery rhymes, this enables children to listen to new vocabulary and use these in their everyday talking. As children develop their confidence they will start to join in with the actions and words, this will help them experiment with making sounds which is the foundations for helping children to learn to read and write.
Singing at Daisykins nursery is part of our everyday routine as children are always keen to join in a song or two, this helps develop their memory skills, it also encourages children from a young age to explore sounds and repeat words. Children's little brains will begin to store the words and start to sing their favourite songs to themselves.
Nursery rhymes such as One, two, three , four, five Once I caught a Fish alive are songs that teach children early mathematical skills as children are able to understand number sequencing, where as songs like Miss Polly had a dolly teaches children early reading skills as children have to follow a simple story. The variety of nursery rhymes aid children's holistic development for example children will benefit from the social interaction, being physically close, using touch or voice, these will all provide opportunities for early conversations between practitioners and children.
