Our International Easter Day At Daisykins Whitehall
As part of our Easter celebrations at Daisykins Whitehall we held an International Easter Morning. The children were encouraged to bring their parents/carers along and show each other how they celebrate Easter where their families are originally from.
The morning was held on the dance floor and traditions were shared from Hungry, China, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, the U.K. and many more. Parents/Carers came along to join in different Easter themed activities and to share their experiences with their children and each other.
They were able to taste some Hungarian Easter cake called Beigli, explore how Norwegians give each other Easter gifts and talk about what Easter means to them in their own countries.

Other activities the children took part in included making their own Easter bonnets, using plastic eggs dipped in paint to make patterns on the paper and carefully using scissors to cut out different pictures they had decorated. They also used different coloured paints and paintbrushes to decorate the shells of hard boiled eggs.
Here at Daisykins Whitehall we like to encourage the children to share each other's experiences from their home lives and to celebrate all different faiths, cultures and beliefs. Our International Easter morning was very successful in doing this and enabled parents/carers to spend some time with their children within the setting as well.
