Working in Partnership with Parents/carers

Working together with parents/carers

At Daisykins Nursery in Rugby we recognise that nobody knows your child better than you do as their parent/carer. With this in mind we work tirelessly to ensure we are building effective two way relationships with all parents and carers who use our Rugby Nursery. We try to ensure that we have many methods of communicating so that all parents can stay involved in what their child has been up to at Daisykins Nursery. This is done through your child’s assigned key person and also through various other opportunities at Nursery.

You will have daily communications with your child’s key person on drop off and collection. This is a great opportunity to share any quick concerns, how your child has been over the weekend or evening, share any new developments or interests and to also receive feedback on how your child has spent their day.

Daisykins hold two twilight parents evenings a year, these informal evening gives you the opportunity to look around the nursery and talk to practitioners about their children's development. Children's learning journals are available for you to look through. During these twilight evenings you can also ask any questions or voice any concerns you may have.

We also hold monthly parent/carer mornings at our Rugby Nursery. This may be arts and crafts, cooking and messy play sessions. These are a great way to see some of the things your child gets up to at Daisykins Nursery and to have some more casual conversations. This is a lovely way to show your child that you have a relationship with the people who look after them.

A monthly newsletter is also sent out to parents, which contains a brief overview of what the children in each room have been up to as well as any key dates or events for the month. This is great for those busy working parents who want to stay up to date with the latest Nursery events do not have lots of free time to chat or attend our parent mornings.

Along with all of this Daisykins also uses various pieces of paperwork such as all about me’s, 2 year reviews, progress summaries and learning journals to share progress, developments, interests and concerns with parents.
